At our centre in Stoke Newington, Askew Eyewear will check for signs of glaucoma.

What is glaucoma?

Glaucoma is commonly caused by a build up of pressure in the eye which can damage the optic nerve causing loss of vision. Some types of glaucoma develop quite slowly and are painless, while other may be sudden and painful.

Loss of vision from glaucoma is irreperable, so frequent eye examinations are essential.

Treating glaucoma

Glaucoma can be treated with eye drops, surgery or laser treatment, but the important thing is early diagnosis to prevent vision loss.
